i used to sell these years ago, they were a low melting point plastic tube with liquid Halon inside, when the pipe got hot, it would burst at the point of heat so all the gas was directed at the heat sorce. they worked well and i sold a couple of hundred of them, then they banned Halon!! so it died a death
