Default RE: Perfect combo coleman camper fuel with Amsoil 100:1?

Maybe the oil experts might find this interesting??

I have been amased at the amount of threads and questions that come here about oil/mix ratios and brands. I don't believe in ghosts or UFO's. I'm old school that sticks with a brand that works. The oil I use is probably no better than any name brand synthetic, I have used if for many years, never had any issues of any kind, so I have stayed with it. I do a fair amount of engine repair work for the guys in our club, I'm kinda a motor guy. We have a bunch of guys at our field running this oil partly because of me, Klotz KL310. I mix it at 50-1. It's all I use in DA's, 3W's, Zenoah's, and all the Sach's based engines I have owned over the years. Its good oil, the best I don't know nor care, it works, burns clean, no scuffing, no bearing issues and carbon build up is minimal. Last week a local flyer with a BME100 running Amsoil at 100-1 was told by another flyer that he would like to see a difference in heat with Amsoil vr's Klotz. Same plane, same engine. Using an infared gun the Amsoil at 100-1 was around 20-30 degrees hotter than the Klotz at 40-1. The engine was in the 220-230 range with the Amsoil and around 200 on one side and a little less on the other with the Klotz. When he finished messing with this he went back to the Amsoil and the temps went back up. Infared guns are kinda ball park at best but there was a reference I seen and was shocked to see a difference this obvious. I usually don't get involved in oil topics but this seems worth mentioning as I left the field that evening wondering about it..Walt
