Waldopepperaxel your flying area looks pretty big too. i would think you could fly some pretty fast planes there . I went out and flew again today and there was a little wind but not much and i had a heck of a time. I got to do some 3D stuff but i couldnt get it to hang on the prop. probably not the right prop on it for that i guess. Its a 11X6 APC Sport prop. But the plane sure does go fast when there isn't any wind. I had a heck of a time landing. I made at least 5 passes before i finally landed and then i didn't land like i had hoped. Ran into a big weed and it killed the engine but no harm done.
I guess it takes awhile and some fiddling with different charteristics to get the plane to fly the way you want it to. All i did was put the prop on it. Added an exaust extention to keep the oil off it as much as possable and add a receiver and set up the radio, switched the location of the receiver and battery around and added snoopy. Come to think of it i guess that's quite a bit. But not enough.[sm=lol.gif]
I do think flying it in the wind at least a little wind is better then no wind at least you have a cushion of air to ride down on. the plane came in real hot even after i made several passes to try and bleed off speed.
It was the longest flight i have had with it so far. I flew for 20 minutes and didnt run out of gas thought that was amazing. I was getting scared there for a minute. I have only dead sticked it once, but i had that nice cushion of air helping me float.
I'm definetly not impressed with the radio i'm using in it. The Hitec Optic 6 just doesnt feel right, not enough weight to it or something. I think it might be cause it doesn't have the clicks on the throttle that i'm use to, I think that would help in trying to hover the plane, I got it to hover for about 5 seconds very disapointed[&o] The radio worked great for My Trex 450 Heli it felt right for it but not for the TVV!$T. I guess using one radio for a year on one plane then switching to another radio on the other plane is not wise.
I'm thinking about getting a 150, Come to find out it can use a 26cc Gas engine i didnt know this, till reading up on it a little. So there is a gas TVV!$T. But i better get the one i have flying the way i want it to before doing that and going bigger.
I have yet to fly off an assfault runway i started in the dirt and i'm still in the dirt. Now if i could just get the sheep hearder to put the sheep on the side of the road were the big weeds are i will have it made they did a fine job of clearing a nice big area were there is no weeds now But no i had to try and land on the road with the big weeds on the sides of it.
