Default On and off????

Ok, now here is a good question that has stumped many of the experienced guys at my field. Is the 'on' position when the switch in grounded (circuit is closed), or when the circuit is not grounded ( open) ? I know the answer when it comes to a flywheel generated spark, but not sure when the spark is generated via electronic ignition.

Ok, I admit that I am new to gassers, but for anyone thinking about using a gas engine for the first time, this is a good question to get an expert answer to. Trust me, the directions on the kill switch I used didn't provide the answer so I was left to learning by experience. In the end, I had my kill switch inverted thinking off was off when it was actually on. Fortunately no one was injured. Meaning, I didn't get a spark when priming.......
Harmon, make sure you know the answer before attempting to start the engine.......
