RE: Fun with Flat Foam
I built 2 of the prototypes, both had identical failures and have 2 new versions flying, with 3 more under construction. The 2nd prototype was being flown by a friend and met it's demise yesterday. Poor thing had so many patches on it, really needed to be retired anyway. The planes cost 300 Baht to build, Carbon fiber being the expensive part at 190 Baht, foam 55 baht, glue and xacto blades. We use a colored taoe for the color schemes, it is thinner than scotch tape, almost transparent. The Thai's call it OPP tape, not sure what it means or who the manufacturer is, but it adds color and is pretty light if you use it sparingly. 300 Baht = USD$8.95 at today's exchange rate.
