Default Too much tape

I've built and flown Zagi's for a while now. I've found that with EPP wings (like the XE2), you can get by just fine by only covering the leading edge and the spars with strapping tape (I prefer bi-directional tape). I believe that the XE2 has a central spar, so you wouldn't even need the strips covering the spar. Anyway, we fly full contact combat with the slope Zagis, mine have survived well with the tape only on the LE and covering the spar. I have put a few more strips on for stiffness, but this comes with a weight penalty. If you have a good slope with good lift, you can add a little tape for strength. But not the entire wing. That would be too heavy. Do you have the electric version? If so, you want to keep that plane as light as possible. I used to use micro servos in the plane, and that seems to work well, but in general, you need enough weight up in the nose that you might as well use full size servos. -Eric-
