Default RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!

Orion4,

I've had a ton of helis in the last 2 years. A CX, CX2, CP, CP Pro, Falcon, Raptor G2, Trex450 and HBK2. Jay/ Radioflyer is correct, the falcon being a shaft / conical drive does have a tendency to strip gears when you touch the tail to the ground on a bad / hard landing. Over time, I've sold all of them except for the HBK2. The Trex 450 was a little to much for me, I'm one of the old guys around here and the old eye, hand co-ordination just isn't there anymore. I find that the HBK2 is a perfect bird for me. It's belt driven and doesn't break like a shaft / conical drive system does. IMHO, I would have to say for a beginner or intermetiate(spelling?). That the HBK2 is the best bang for the buck. The one thing that HAS to be done, is to upgrade to a brushless motor and an ESC. And it would still would be less expensive than a Falcon 3D..

Currently, the only helis I have are two HBK2's and love 'em.

There's only a small difference in size: The falcons main rotor 25 1/2 inches and the HBK2 is 23.64. Not enough to be concerned with.

Here's a couple web sites to check things out. I'm not suggesting to purchase from either one. Just for specs.

I could be wrong Orion4 but I don't think the Falcon is better than the HBKII. Dave , choppersrule, had one and I don't think it went well. The Falcon is a shaft driven tail instead of a belt and so any time you touch the tail you strip the gears. Orion4 give Dave a PM, he's a great heli guru and loves to help. He has a HBKII now but I don't think he has a Facon anymore.

God bless!

Jay
