misshydro, I have seen the first gen in person, and I think although easier to keep, those engine mounts provide less strength then having the side rails...more so in starting, like the force from a pullstart or a starting belt being pulled tight, so Id stick with the siderails, they are in the newer boats for a reason, just like the flaxshaft is in there for a reason...when you rebuilt the old style engine mounts you probablly built them stronger then they where when stock...so anyway, Id kinda like to see a formula run next to a vegas since they have the .18 now...my choice still lies in a vegas as far as a hydro, but proboat is starting to get there stuff together...
