Orion4,
J-MICHAEL is correct. The HBK2 out of the box with a Brushed motor won't give you 3 minutes of pleasure, ever. Don't try to save the $10 and try and get a deal. You have entered a wonderful hobby and it does get expensive, nobody here will deny that. (Anybody want to challenge that

)
Anyway, you definately have to have a brushless motor and ESC. A 3100kv with a 25 amp ESC will do what you need to do, if you're new to the hobby and has Plenty of power. A 3800kv and a 35 amp ESC will rock your socks off.
J-MICHAEL,
You do your homework well.

Orion4, I'am on the bottom of the "totem pole" when it comes to the experienced vets on this thread...But I have heard them say a few times, that you are going to need the brushless set-up for an HBK2... If you ask me anything else, I won't know !! lol...! Good day, Jeff
