Default RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Hi Joe
Talking about Lights
the 2000 model cessna 182 Skylane can have optional fitted wing tip landing lights which i was going to put on mine
but the thought of cutting into the epoxy glass wing tip moldings put me off.
I even got as far as moulding some clear acetate to the same shape so that I could fit the lights and then put the clear cover over it
to continue the lines of the wing.
It turned out ok but for a bit of the plastic not being clear enough where it had been stretched over the wing too much.
This is the main reason why I opted for the lights under the cowl.
They look ok placed more or less in line with the front strut as i couldn't put them on the cowl below the air intakes due to the engine.
Zenoah G26 and when they are switched on they illuminate the ground infront of the model for about 8 feet as they are really bright.
they also light up the nose wheel which looks quite good.

One other reason why i opted for the lights under the fus was that it was 2 less wires to try and put through the wing and 2 less to have to connect up at the field.

Regards

Steve

gonna have to get some photos on here and some video.
