Default First impressions of Sledge

Well my Sledge kit arrived today...They said it would be 2-5 business days and it took 7. It's not a big deal, but I thought I would mention it.

I open up the box and the first thing I notice is the badly burnt edge's of the ribs and all the laser-cut parts. I know this is from the laser-cutting, but this is MUCH worse than anything else I have seen...Again, not a big deal.

The instructions look pretty good, but I'm definitely going to need some help on the pull-pull setup. Everything else looks good. The plans aren't the greatest, but they will do. The wood is a little on the heavy side and I will definitely be replacing some sticks.

Here's what bothers me- On my reciept is says"B/O pull-pull cable sheaths"

I am going to assume that means my pull pull cable sheaths are on back order. Whatever it means, they are missing! How great is that? You know the worst part about it? I was completely expecting to have something missing, but I was hoping for a couple sticks of wood! It is a Morris kit after all, isn't it?

I was really starting to believe they got things fixed up over there, but I guess not. My first impression from a couple years ago when I first started hearing about missing parts and all that is apparently all true! This is definitely a dissapointment... My Tower Hobbies Extra Special kit (Great Planes) for $45 was 10 times better at this point. We will see how the build processs goes and if I ever get those "sheaths"

I guess I'll just build except the last few steps of the fuselage which includes putting the "sheaths" in. Is there something else I can use? I'll see if my LHS has anything, but I don't think they will...

I should add that I paid $110 for this kit for one and only one reason and that is the way it flies. Once I get past the building and get to the flying I think I'll forget about ALL of this...Let's hope!
