Word of advise!
Don't let your brother fly your planes!!!!!!!!!
It started off on a cool Sunday Morning at our local flying field. My brother and i just finished rebuilding his art-tech Cessna and i had just received my parkzone spitfire a couple of days earlier. We brought those planes along with a repaired Parkzone Decathelong which my son flies.
Now my brother is the type who jumps into things without taking the time to really check and make sure everything is working properly. He wants to run befor he can crawl...you know the type.
The day started of with him flying his Cessna which i hand launch perfectly. He flew it out about 100ft. and turned it around and looped it once. All of a sudden i heard "OH, oh" as the plane spiralled down and crashed into the ground. The wing broke off flying into the air along with the front cowling and a few other pieces. Laughing i asked "What Happened".
He said the the ailerons had stuck and he could not turn the plane.
My son (who is nine) was next with the decathelon. He flew it around for about 5 min. and brought it in for a perfect landing.( FMS really helps)
I brought out the new Spitfire. Feel sorry for my brother i offered him the maiden flight. He refused at first but i wanted to cheer him up with a nice powerful plane.
I told him to do a field test and everything was find. He maxed the throttle and the pull was very strong. I hand launched it perfectly as usual and the plane flew off like a rocket ( in comparison with the park flyer and the cessna). He brought it around a couple of times and the last time he did it went behind him and he lost orientation and the plane dove full throttle into the ground. The crash with the Cessna was nothing compared to this. I needed a vacuum to pick up the peices. All i could do was laugh out loud even though i was crying inside. Again my son took the decathelon out a spin and again landed it perfectly. I was next and now the only plane left was the decathelon, luckly i brought a couple of spare batteries. I flew the decathelon for about 5 min and brought it in. Again i offered my brother another chance to fly a plane so he wouldn't feel bad. Again i hand launched it, and again i took off and he brought it around a couple of times. All of a sudden i see the plane knife edging towards the ground, and crash. Luckily it was at a low speed and the plane is full of hot glue and tape. The damage was limited to a bent shaft and the battery case being cracked.
I think this is the last time i will let him fly my Planes!!!!!!!!
AAAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!
