Yeah deans are easy to solder as long as you use the proper tools (60+watt soldering iron) and technique. All my stuff was already deans long before the traxxas connectors came out, so I am still using deans. Powerpoles are substandard compared to these two, at least the smaller ones that people are using are, they aren't good up to the 100A that deans can handle.
