K94max is right. Once I took my training gear off the, the axe flew better out of ground effect and was more stable. I tried using the training gear again outside and doing other maneuvers inside with them on and I was all over the place. I was scared to tip it over. I took the gear off again and "voila" no more paranoia stable as can be, and ive only had my axe cp 8 months using no sim either just trail and error. I had 4 crashes and im on my second set of blades and havnt crashed since i put them on back in june. Ive replaced all the rotor head parts once and have another set on hand. Once the gear comes off your skills increase and you learn to not over react on the sticks and panic crash so to speak. With the bcp paddles and wheel collars the cyclic is sort of dumbed up and less sensative. Gives you more time to react to the movements of the heli and anticipate the corrective action. The hs-55's deffinite improvement too. Took the slop out of the collective as aposed to the old stock servos. Heres a vid of me practicing and moving the heli in different directions to get the feel of it out of ground effect.

I didnt use a sim but I do suggest it. I wish i had but money and computer specs didnt warrent it. I went the hard route but dont regret it though. I can hover with confidence now and land safely with no mishap. Now comes the nose in and curcuit flying. No 3d for this guy it doesnt appeal to me. I like scale flying.
