Default RE: engine comparisons

There really is no comparison, all three engine "families" are so different that their applications are mostly determined by airplane size, airplane class, users preference, etc. etc.

My own personal view, which you can feel free to discard if so inclined, is the following:

2-stroke glow: Good for the smallest RC planes, up to 1.20 CuI size or so. Good for swinging small props fast and for going fast.

4-stroke glow: Good in sizes .52 - 1.50 CuI (above that they become extremely thirsty). Best suited for aerobatic and 3D airplanes where swinging larger props slower gives better resultss.

2-stroke gasoline: All I deal with now. Will not go under 50cc, and prefer 100cc and up. Good reliable, clean, not cheap, but not that expensive.
