Getting 11.1V will make a ton of difference but it will also kill the motor fast, the brush will tend to burn out ... maybe its time to look for a cheap brushless. It will be much lighter than a speed 400 motor. You can try one of those bell shaped Tower Pro motors. Try the higher KC motors and turn something like a 7" prop.
