Hi,

The real issue about the FAA and UAVs is really the following:

1) Are the flights commercial in nature, if so, no matter the size or reason or altitude, the flight falls under FAA jurisdiction.

2) Any flights outside of the "line of sight" control raises major red flags with FAA regardless if the purpose is hobby pursuit or not.
