Default RE: Tam DMD units

ORIGINAL: ksoc

Here is a link to a Panzer III one of our club members made battle ready. He kept the stock metal drives, and got the Tamiya Electronics off of E-Bay. Depending on how many parts you need, buying the whole tank and parting out what you don't use might make sense.

The American Armoured Foundation Tank Museum (Danville) is good source for all Tamiya parts and kits. Look on the PX page for more info

When I found my DMD units on ebay for the PZ3, early in 2007, there wasn't any competition for them.

So with demand now higher, for my second PZ3 (or Stug conversion), I may buy the f/o Tamiya Tiger I (or King Tiger) kit, take the parts I need and try and sell the parted out kit on ebay. I used this route for a static Porsche Turret King Tiger conversion a couple of years ago. I did save some money, about $125.00, (compared to the dealer priced DMD units).

The other thought is with Deans connectors you can set the PZ3 up for plug and play operation and share DMD units with one of your
exisiting Tigers.

When is SCAT battling again? The Easy 8 is ready for the dirt.
