It's really not that hard to get used to. It's a matter of developing the instinct to keep the heli in the air rather than giving up on it. I think what really helped me was flying in my constrained backyard, which has a lot of foliage around the edges. If I start drifting toward the edges of the yard, I know that I need to try to recover it by giving it collective because if I give up on it, it will crash into the shrubs and do some real damage.
