lol michael, good list there =)

Mrasmm(#13, LOL),
Seems like you've been working on the roof for sometime, been there too. At least you've got it under control. Hope the weather pans out for the additional work with the fence.
To Business:
Just a couple questions, 1) Where did you mount the ESC for the brushless motor? 2) What TX are you using? The stock or a DX6 or DX7. This can make alot of difference in you abnormal glitch problem.
If mounted on top of the 3n1 controller, it can cause glitching, in combination of what channel you're on, if using the stock TX.. My original postion of the ESC was top of the 3n1 and caused alot of problems, such as you're having. I moved the ESC to the back side of the skids and no more problems. Also, check all your wire runs and make sure that everything is away from the Battery and ESC as far as possible.

Thanks for the info. the ESC isn't really mounted anywhere, it's temporarily sitting right between the skids below the main gear. Yeah, I've still got the original Tx. The power leads are definately far away from everything, it doesn't seem to be much of an interference issue though, just something to do with the gyro. I just mounted it with a single thickness of servo foam tape, is that enough, or might it need a bit more? It's a bit confusing because it holds sometimes, and other times it just doesn't.

mrasmm - I had the same trouble with the brushless. It was tough to get the heli to move up and down as smoothly as with the brushed. I think you hit it though with the pitch idea. Brushless just has so much more power, you need to adjust throttle and pitch curves to manage the power better. The extra power will also show the slightest weekness in the tail motors. I thought it might have come from glitches but I think the little mototrs just sometime need a split second breather to keep up with the brushless.
I will say, that is not the case with the HBKII. Finally have it up and running after a tree jumped out of nowhere and grabbed it, and man what a difference. Just hope I don't get sucked into to many upgrades for it. I hate the helis that cost $200 but really$1000 when you get all the replacement parts and upgrades.
Have fun with it.
hehe, oh yeah, I will have fun with it =P I think the tail setup seems to have plenty of power to deal with the brushless, it just doesn't turn on, like the gyro is giving it a signal, but not enough of a signal fast enough, like the gyro has a slower response rate that might be more suited for a belt drive tail with a servo or somtehing. I'll definately have to check out reducing the pitch rage, and maybe reducing the cyclic throw to get there, and centering the pitch range more so. i'll just have to play with it. I went to the stock rate gyro to check how it did with the brushless, and it doesn't do crap =P Much much worse than the g90, it's hardley flyable that way, but I guess that's how it goes.
Sounds like you have had fun moving on to the hbk2. Thanks for all your offers and friendliness and thanks for the info and the input =) I'll start working on it again soon and see if I can't get 'er figured out. No flight time in over 3 weeks now =(
Guess if I wasn't an RCU addict (hey I wanna be like Mike, what can I say

), then I would be spending the time working on the bird =P
Then again if I wasn't an RCU addict, I probably would have given up on the bird a while back =D
