RE: fp
same here, but i call them 'flicks' - flick, center, flick the other way to take out the first flick, center - rinse and repeat ad inifintum - hardest part is getting the take out flick to be exactly the opposite as the first flick (time and stick)
the r22 (real heli) i flew yesterday is so much more like the cx - hard forward cyclic (well somewhat hard - i'd get kicked out of the aircraft if i did it really hard lol) just gives forward flight with the famous nose downward pitch, and, yes, you have to add some collective/throttle to compensate for the altitude, centering the cyclic when in forward flight just levels off and slowly returns to hover, and some backwards cyclic from forward flight gives flare (nose pitch up and hover) - all is just exactly like the flybar modded cx flight characteristics - i wish i had had a third hand to take a video, but both hands (and feet) were busy! - the top rotor on the cx is like all the modern avionics in the r22 keeping the aircraft stable
i'm slowly getting closer to the hours needed to solo! it will be another 3 grand + to make it to soloing and i just don't have enough to do it unless i hit the lottery or rob a bank
i can fly my cx through the glass a million times for free (or around 50 bucks for a motor or two and maybe another lipo) and do exactly the same things that the real full-size heli does (except physically go somewhere and get out and walk around) - and it looks/feels the same through the glass except for the instruments not being there (which they will be in the large cx) - plus, its far more better than doing a flight in a helicopter simulator cause its real flight with a real machine, not just a computer approximation (pilots still need to do simulator flights for the full size helicopter because they teach you how to handle things like fuses blowing and stuff happening that could cause a nasty crash, like power loss autogyro stuff)
