One of the great things about this hobby is kit bashing and then see how it flies. I think a lot of us like to experiment.

Actually, I think the idea of making a profile fuse and using the Magic's wings might not be too bad if you need to fly knife edge really bad. Don't forget the C.G. follows the wing chord.

If you want to do more than just fly knife edge, this might not be the way to go.

We're all a little different. My choice to fly knife edge and other pattern maneuvers would be a pattern plane. My choice to fly hot dog stuff is my Morris Hobbies "Spinsation".

I notice that you do software development. Great! There are programs that might be of interest to you, and which you might even improve upon, relating to kit design.
