Default RE: xray active diff

ORIGINAL: sh0wtime

not another showtime

anyway the diffs,
its not actually anything like the Kyosho TCD Alex
and as for thicker oil if you go too thick you lose all off power steering!

but it does do the same thing, basically locks the diff on power!
it also has the benefit of being able to tune the off power characteristics by using different weight silicones

the kyosho with its very thin oil had a very ON/OFF action that was a bit jerky & inconsistant for most people!

i've got an active diff in my toolbox, might try it today at Clanfield, i was planning on trying the 38t front bevel first
not sure if i will have time during the day to try the complete change to the truggy gearing?
never enough hours in the day once the clocks change
would be nice to try it before Neo race though
LOL, long time no speaky...

Well I don't have the Xray diff but puting the blocks in there around the gears is only to affect the fluid dynamics and creates more resistance to flow as in the Kyosho TCD, I'm not argueing about this one but in my opinion they're action and reason for being in the front are very similar, if I wanted a more on power controlable diff though, it would have to be a TorSen.
