For top speed runs though, the 1/10th is arguably the better choice. Smaller, lighter, less wind resistance, engines rev high, less drivetrain friction, good gearing options...
Yeah but the part where that all becomes a big negative is that if you get over 100mph you are going to struggle to keep it on the ground and going straight, this is where I think a 1/8th circuit car could have the edge but the engines just don't exist to push them that fast.
