I have completed 2 such conversions, one thing to watch out for is the weight of the tank when completed.

I used the MATO Metal Panther Tank upgrade kits and both of my Jagdpanthers weigh in at 9.25 lbs and 10lbs depending on type of battery installed.(Lipo/nicad)

This being important when selecting drive electronics (ESC)

My EL Mod electronics is not able to allow the Jadgpanther to climb any sort of grade as it cannot put out enough power, at least not yet.
I understand the the guys at El Mod are working on a solution to the problem.

just my 2cents worth, best of luck with your project. I think I saw a conversion kit on a German web site some weeks ago that was made for the HL tanks..
