RE: WACO YMF
Yes - that's what I thought. I also found that I would have to bend the top stringer down to meet it and the plans show that the stringer is flat. So I added 1/8" to the bottom which raised it in the proper position and also spread the base out so the sheeting now fits.
Now the rear formers are also out a tad. I think I will install F-14T and F-9T and run a basswood 1/4" sq. stringer between them, Then I'll cut the in between forms to fit at the correct heights! I can adjust the notches for the top stringer for straightness at the same time. Fuse is coming well and aside from some "wavyness" with the side stringers, (hardly noticable) all is going well. All this comes under normal building problems but perhaps some new builders will benefit from the info.
By the way, the jpegs all downloaded perfectly and the 3" or 6" scale line measured perfectly. However I found that constant referal to the plans was necessary to true them up in some cases. For instance I made a templates of the side view of the W-5 and W1 wing ribs off the plans and used them to cut all the ribs using the jpegs for the trailing edge variations. Worked perfectly. All in all they were extremely helpful - thanks to the Brotherhood for all the work!
