If you can fly, land and perfor simple aerobatics (loop, hammer head ) with your Slowstick AND NOT CRASH 99 times out of 100,, then get yoursel an AILERON TRAINER with a brushless motor setup. You will need to get used to ailerons, higher flying and landing speeds and ROG (Rise Off Ground ) takeoffs for glow or gas powered planes.
My suggestion would be to talk to an instructor at your club (You did join a club, didn't you ? ) and seriously consider going directly to a 40 or 60 size glow plane.
You state you want to wind up with glow power, so instead of spending the money on another electric, spend it on a glow trainer. Even if you can fly an electric well there are things you will need an instructor for when you transition to glow (engine tuning, usually a faster response time with the plane, faster takeoff and landing speeds, etc ).
I fly both glow and electric. Unless you want to shell out some big bucks, you will not get an electric to perform the same as a glow plane. I have converted several 40 size glow planes to electric and getting equivelant performance can sometimes be very daunting (not to mention $$$$$
