I have no personal experience with nitro engines, but I have been reading rc car action and rc driver magazines since january of 2006...
Bug, not to pisss you off because you meant well but wy answer if you have zero experience with this type of a problem? Or even experience with glow motors at all?
Ah, you're one of those that thinks just because a person hasn't done it, they know absolutely nothing about it. I bet you sneer and laugh at beginners when they try something that you consider easy and spread their craft over the ground. Just an ASSUMPTION, which it seems you have painted me with. Not to piss you off or anything. I have been considering getting a nitro driven vehicle for some time, and knew several people that had them. My wallet isn't big enough for it yet cause I can't get a job where I am, but I have been researching how to tune and maintain nitro engines for over a year, and saw the same problem in several different places. Their answer was always the same, the glow plug. I was simply passing on info from someone that did have experience with them. I also just added two more pieces of knowledge that will help when I do get a nitro machine. JoDyO figured it out, it was his ignitor not heating the plug properly because he had accidentally left it on the engine and melted the end, and Cambo's answer set me straight about carb settings. Now that I think about it, that makes sense. If the low end is to rich, when the ignitor is taken off the fuel cools the plug to quick causing it to stall. A person with the whole "if you don't know for sure why bother" attitude keeps people from learning, and only helps turn people away from this hobby. Don't be that person. Peace.
