"Faux-Que" New F3A Design Build Thread

Prior to the 12/1/07 "Official" launch of the build thread, I would like to provide a few additional details for interested readers.

Question posed by demonstrably intelligent RCU member: Rusty, the name you selected seems to have/be a subtle play on words... (which, I thought no one else would recognize, so I pointed it out), why THAT name?

Rusty: Excellent observation, demonstrably intelligent RCU member. The basis for the airplane is a Piedmont Focus II (pronounced phoenetically foe-'cuss). The primary outline of the modified airplane will be from the Oxai-Zeque, from which I chose to use MY preferred annunciation, like the letter "q". Recognizing that these posts are reviewed with the greatest level of scrutiny, I believe Mr. Suzuki, the designer of the "Zeque" pronounces it like the letter "k". Personally, seeing Foe-Que on the side of a model, particularly mine, seems, well just a little too aggressive. I opted for the more sophisticated spelling (and pleases my dear friends based in France) of "Faux". Here is the irony: Most Americans pronounce this spelling as "fake" rather than the proper French annunciation "foe". Therefore, in the USA (my target audience) it will most often be pronounced "Fake- Que", immediately bringing to mind...hey, I get it, that is a FAKE ZEQUE! Incidentally, the word "faux" ,is generally accepted in the American version of english to mean "fake", as an imposter, or copy, generally of inferior quality to the original.

Put all of this information together, the underlying, super subtle meaning is "Fake Zeque"!

The real back ground on this can be found from a previous RCU build thread called "Zeque Build Glow Powered". Many of the replies/additions/posts brought to light the fantastic amount of money required to own an Oxai model and that quite honestly got me thinking. I thought about the idea of taking a successful available pattern design and by somehow stealing ideas from other smart people, I could have something pretty close...like one receives when they buy a faux Rolex watch for $20 rather than the $4,000 original.

Regarding my disclosure of my affiliation with Team Futaba and Team YS Parts and Service, this brings to light another excellent question. Personally, I am sometimes suspicious about individuals using public "chat forums" to hawk products. The solution most appropriate for me is to disclose any potential conflicts of interests, consistently. This consistent disclosure makes the assumption that an RCU member maybe reading my posts as a one time event rather than considering them as a consistent and focused body of work. Further more, the word "sponsorship" implies that, one who is sponsored, receives compensation including monetary compensation, products and or expense allowances/reimbursement. A pilot who is a "team" member, may receive access to timely technical information, participate in beta testing and generally a discount for purchases. I am not a "sponsored" pilot, rather have a "team" affiliation.

Regarding the value I add or do not add to my team affiliations? I am confident that my communications, efforts to educate and promote the sport of precision aerobatics are consistent with the core values of the companies I represent.

What to expect from this thread?

I encourage anyone sitting on the edge of your seats, to visit RCU thread "Zeque build glow powered" for the structure, perspective and details I find interesting. Many of you will find no value in this thread and I encourage you to make another selection.

Excellent questions thus far!

Bla-Bla – we need more pithy analysis to connect the dot dot go fish shutes & ladders jump rope color by numbers monopoly Forest Gump logic. A financial backer type starts one thread without permission and was quickly asked which design was copied – BERusty unleashed a powerful sermon unto the ignorant. On his heels BERusty initiates a Faux-Que thread which he openly describes the all the planes he is going to copy. The black heart of the man was pointed out post#3 and another I’m smarter than you sermon was unleashed upon the stupid people post #6 combined with how his communication helps growpattern.

I’m at a loss but Forest just called and thinks that stupid is as stupid dose. This whole thing smells like haggis. Quick! Who is running out to buy products available now pimped by BERusty. Accipe Hoc
