RE: Opening up a store front
Would this be your firs retail business? Do either of you have any experience in owning your own business of any kind? Are you prepared to put in very long hours and turn something that you enjoy into a huge source of stress? Have you developed a business plan yet. What about funding, do you have that in place yet? Have you done any research yet on your market demand (besides asking our opinion, I mean) and the current competition? What is your experience level with rc's? And by that I mean all kinds of rc's - planes, helis, electric, nitro, cars, trucks, buggies, boats, etc because you will be getting all kinds of people with questions and needs for help and what about your experience with the other stuff you want to sell? Can you work on gopeds? Are you an expert on skateboards, snow boards, etc? Because everyone that walks into that store is going to expect you to be an expert on every aspect of your products.
There are shops near me that have been open for 20 years or more and there have been shops that lasted less than a year. Store success depends on so many things that it's really hard to predict how well any given individual or store will do. So, if you've sat down and looked at this realistically and are willing to work hard and make sacrifices then you MIGHT be able to make it work.
Good Luck
