Default RE: Radio/Remote Control ?

ORIGINAL: RCKen

One way to start up a quick argument is to refer to our RC planes as "toys". I am completely immersed in this hobby and I'll be the first to tell you that no matter how expensive a plane is it's still nothing more than a toy. Yes, it's a very expensive toy. And yes, it can kill somebody (the two most commonly heard arguments). But it's still just a toy. Heck, playgrounds are expensive but their sole purpose if for play. A simple ball can kill somebody if they step on it and fall and break their neck. I really don't understand why some people are so resistant to admit they are toys. We have a guy at our field that is 70 years old, but if you meet him you'll swear he is in his 50's. If you ask him about it he'll be the first to tell you "Hell yes, their toys!!!" His advice on this subject is that when you STOP playing with toys that's when you get old. I totally agree with him. I plan on "playing" with my toys until the day they nail the coffin shut!!!! And lastly, remember the saying..... He who dies with the most toys, wins!!!!!!

What are you trying to do, start WWIII???

As this link shows, some guys can be pretty sensitive about semantics.
