i haven't tried that setup, but sounds like you new motor has more torque

..i read the instructions on both. lrp esc, there are many adjustments that can help you, throttle and brake control. this is also a fwd only esc. the super rooster is good also no motor limit(although you won't need it). I'd turn reverse off also. i would use the lrp esc and the new motor if it was my car, or test them both out and see what you like the best
