if all you after is top speed runs, then its going to take one hell of a .21 to match that Picco 28... ... That big 28 does make a real 2 HP, those .21's make 1.5-1.7 HP at best, with nowhere near the tourque.....The big 28 will be able to push very high gearing and not break a sweat...... Top Speed is all about gearing and HP, and the Picco 28 has very big HP
Hmm with the Fusion it's not really all about power and gearing, more eliminating drivetrain resistance.Yes Nic Case converted a Fusion to electric and ran 127mph but how much horsepower would his gear equate too?...i don't know maybe 5,6 even 7hp...we'll never get that from a nitro motor.
Yes the Picco has big power but maybe not as much as an 8 port Nova 528!Which is what i'm running in my car (not a Fusion but identical running gear just larger) ...it's not topping out...ok i've not found the ideal running place yet but i promise you that the resistance in the drivetrain will limit the top speed.
Actualy a Picco 28 and Nova 28 make very similar peak output numbers... they both make 2 HP ( X-Dyno) but the Nova has a fuller powerband and more peak tourque....both mills have nearly identical top ends.................. Now my modded Picco 28 is signifigantly more powerful then a Nova 28..with more TQ,HP and RPM, it will pull much harder on top end then a Nova 28 will.......... Anyways I am not comparing to electric, I am just saying if top speed is your goal a 2 HP 28 beats a 1.5 HP .21...... as long as you gear each motor acordingly........ I am not saying how much faster, but 2.3 HP is going to pull a higher MPH then 1.5 HP
