Default RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Hello Folks

I've just built myself a MT2 18ss+ kit, completely standard, straight out of the box - its my first nitro.
I'm having problems getting it started to break it in. I'm using Orion Black Demon 16% Comp Fuel, it was recommended when I bought the kit.

I Primed the fuel lines by my holding finger over the exhaust and pulling the start cord a few times 'till fuel was near the carb, plugged in the glow starter (fully charged over night), set the throttle to 1/4ish open and pulled the cord many many times, it coughed into life, revved up a bit and then cut straight back out, no idling or attempt to idle. It did this twice in about 1hr of trying. It seemed to me that it was running out of fuel?
I also tried these hints that I found on the web:
It was cold when I tried it so I borrowed mothers hair dryer and warmed the engine up
Tried loosening the glow plug slightly and tried starting it
but I guessed that it wasn't normal for it to take so long to start so I stopped.
I've checked the High Speed Needle setting as per the book - correct.
Checked that the glow plug glows - It does so nice and brightly.

Could anybody shed some light on what I'm doing wrong & point me in the right direction?
Cheers
Eric
