The closest experience I have is with the Mini Storm Launcher. The MSL is a smaller version of a similar vehicle to the XPV.
The Mini Storm Launcher flies like crap. It needs a long run to get off the ground, and is nearly uncontrollable in the air. In a large parking lot, I was able to fly it around with some success, but the flying car design is just not a very good flier.
I loved my Aero Ace biplane until the wind carried it down the street one day[

] I had it WAY up over the tree tops, and just as I decided it was too high, it blew away.
The other thing to watch out for with the XPV, is that it may not include a battery pack. One of them, either the XPV or the Storm Launcher, does not come with a battery and some folks are surprised by the added expense.
I say, if you want something to fly, get something shaped like an airplane, not like a car.
