RE: HELPING ASSEMBLING ZENOAH G26 EI
I just bought one too and am struggling. I believe the L-bend metal is placed on the rotor over the magnet. It provides the correct gap from the rotor for the pickup sensor. Place the sensor over the angled metal piece and tighten the bolts. You should now have the correct gap between sensor and rotor. The extra phenolic spacer is the original one used on the motor. However, when it is use the throttle linkage will be at right angles to the firewall. The G26 comes with a new spacer installed that positions the throttle cam horizonally so that the throttle linkage from the firewall can directly connect to the throttle cam. By the way, the instructions indicate that you should use some needelnose pliers to pull the throttle cam off the throttle are and discard the spring. Don't do this! I did and bent my throttle arm. Rather, cut the new throttle arm to the first hole and place it on the other end of the throttle arm, next to the choke arm. Otherwise, the new arm will hit the engine block and idle screw housing. I still haven't figured out how to mount the engine to the front of the plane. Looks like I need to buy some standoffs.
These are the worst instructions I have ever seen!
