Default Back in the hobby

Well after a 10 year hiatus from the RC world I thought I would get back into it slowly with a Redcat Volcano. I have had countless buggies, trucks etc in the past 90% of them were electric from Associated, Tamiya, etc. My favorite 2wd electric was probably my old RC10T, hot motor, Novak, and other countless dollars spent on it

I have read horror stories about the Redcats and I have read all the praises... I like to form my own opinion so I thought I would see for myself. The price can't be beat so what the heck. Dive in head first.

I see the main complaint about gear wear for the most part been addressed. What other areas of concern are there?

Since I told my wife this was to be a Christmas present from the kids I can not touch it until then. Of course I plan to have all of the extras on hand to get it going Christmas day!

I plan to pick an electric 1/10 scale for my 14 year old son. If I would have thought of it sooner I could have done it for Christmas... Oh well. My first one was the Tamiya Lunchbox, I had a blast with that thing, I had way too much motor, an ESC, and a ton of rear end parts.. I am thinking I will get one of those for him.

Look forward to contributing and learning,

Chris
