I know there is about at least 10 decent post about which 1/8 scale buggy to buy. Personally for me they didnt help much at all really, so I'm making my own.
My brother, his friend and me are getting back into rc cars. We all bassilcy got out of it for 2-3 years after the local track went to crap. We all got to talking the other day about each of us getting 1/8 scale buggys.
So anyways, I have been on the all the RC forums and online RC shops that sell buggys and I have kinda came to a stand still on what I should get.
Since I have been outta the hobby for 2-3 years, alot of new company's have came out with nice looking buggy's (CEN, Sportworks ect ect). Myself I just went to the ones I know from when I left the hobby (OFNA, Mugen, Kyosho,)
The two OFNA's I'm interested in are RTR's. The first is the Hyper 7 TQ Sport:
http://ofna.com/hyper7-tq-sport.php and the second is the Ravager:
http://ofna.com/ravager.php
I also have been looking at some older Mugen models. Manly the MBX4 and MBX5 Prospec.
And also some Kyosho models (Kanai, Inferno, MP777)
I will mostly be using a buggy I'm getting for just running on the road and maybe at the local BMX track, but also maybe once or twice a year, race at the big local rc track events.
For those Mugen's and Kyosho I will probley be buying used with a motor on eBay since my budget is in the lower 300's.
Myself I will probley buy choose a Mugen or Kyosho over a OFNA. I would just like some people with experiance with the Mugen and Kyosho models I said above to explain to me how they are built, how tough/reliable and how good a quality they are. I know Mugen is like top stuff since i'm a friend with a guy who raced Mugen mbx4's.
Also, if I buy used. Are parts quite available for the Mugen and Kyosho models I said above? Cause that is really the only think I'm worried about.
If anybody can tell me anything, that would be totally awesome!
Big thanks in advance
Daniel
