RE: What plane?
I have had the Airfoilz Yak 54. It was a very good flying plane, and I probably built mine too heavy. After flying two or three other planes that were advertised as "3D" and not having much success, the Airfoilz Yak was the first plane I could actually hover. The Airfoilz planes are also very reasonably priced right now. I may be looking at the Bipe some time next year.
With all that being said though, I think there are other options too. No matter what someone wants, there is always someone on here who is quick to tell you "get an Airfoilz". I do think the e-foamies planes are better 3D trainers, and they are much more durable/crashable. They are also almost twice as expensive. If I had to do it again knowing what I know how, I'd probably go e-foamies first and then Airfoilz later.
