Hi Cheez-
I have built several floats on CUB projects, and have had a great deal of success finding scale photos, browsing the web looking at sites for "Dehavilland Beaver", as a source. Many owners and brokers, have detailed photos on their websites. Here's another: if you are in Canada, aren't there a lot of "Fishing Lodges" that advertise "flying into" basecamp? Check out their websites. As for myself, here's a 1/4 Sc. CUB-Float project from last summer, that mentioned earlier. I fly it on Long Island Sound, here in New York. The struts are 3/16 dia, the cross braces are hardwood. The floats are 46 inch IKON Northwest, made for giant 1/4 scale CUBS. They were covered in 0.5 o.z. cloth and painted (using paint brush) with waterbased "Polyurethane" from a can. Spray painted with Krylon Paint; Primer, then, Glossy White- about 3 coats. Have had nothing but admiration. Good Luck.
