Tom,
You told me that the heli-max plastic grips would work fine on my BCX. Then you said that you liked the Xtreme blade grips better. Imjust trying to improve outdoor flight(that's all I do-no indoor, too small). What is the wieght differance between the plastic grips and the aluminum grips? I am worried about rotating mass. I am still using stock batterys and I am going to lighten up my Xtreme boom and skid kit. Did you find that the aluminum grips had less wobble? Did you try the xtreme core from the other website?Sorry for so many questions but I only want to buy one set of blade grips. Can you recomend which blade to use with my stock set up?
I am thinking about A 15 C battery. Some people are complaining about puffing. Your choice or batterys?
Thanks for any advice.
dcn10, The heli-max plastic grips should work fine. I like the xtreme blade grips much better
because you can use the xtreme blades on them and they are metal instead of plastic.
They are very strong and work better than the heli-max plastic grips for me.
Some of the blades I put in the heli-max plastic grips I can't get tight enough
and some I can. Different blades have different thickness where they mount into the blade grips.
I have not tried the extreme core. Just the extended upper and lower shaft, short flybar, landing skids.
I still would go with the extreme core or lama grips over the heli-max plastic grips for sure!
The heli-max grips are OK with some blades but there are better grips to use out there.
The heli-max plastic grips weigh 2.9 Grams. The xtreme blade grips weigh 4.2/4.3 grams.
If you’re looking out for weight, go with the plastic grips.
I didn't notice a difference between plastic or aluminum grips wobble. Both were nice and smooth for me.
No wobble.
I have the new puff free mega power 15C 850 mAh batteries and they are great. No puffing problems so far.
I recommend them.
The only blades you can use with your stock heli are the eflight blades.
If you get the folding blades I would use the xtreme blades or the Chinese A/B blades. Both work great.
Also the vortex blades work well. There just like the extreme blades on bladecx2.com. I have them also.
Side by side they look, weight, and fly the same.
