actually, all you need is an rx (if you had a futaba or hitec, you wouldn't even need that). it will work whether or not you use the gyro; just make sure to leave the proportional trim knob off (full CCW) if you plan on using the gyro with your tx revo mixing (imo, besides throttle/pitch curves & d/r/expo, accurate revo mixing is one of the biggest benefits of using a programmable radio).

[edit: just to clue you in, you'll have to take apart your 4n1 & use 2 servo extensions to plug the "esc/gyro" side of the 4n1 into your rx. it's easy to do.]
