Default RE: scale flying with blade cp

honestly mike, alls you need to know is heavier helis with lower headspeeds make better scale flyers. while you might want a bit of excess power to handle sudden loss of lift due to wind & whatnot, a scale heli imo should be "barely powered". it makes the rotor sound more scale like, it's easier to hold a scale like hover, and the blades move slower so you can fly much longer (less drag).

for this reason you might like the blade cp pro with flat bottom blades & a smaller pinion. you'll probably want a big lipo like 3s1320 or so. imo heading hold & idle-up are "anti-scale" items. you might even want to go against the aerobatic grain of these forums & add a tad more pitch than most would recommend, just to slow it down some for that "whoppawhoppawhoppa..." effect.
