If you have 5-point mixes like a Futaba 9C, you can set the rud-ail to "kick in" at varying amounts of rudder deflection. I've never needed much more than 5-7% rud-ail mix for roll coupling. I use my thumbs for any elevator adjustments. The rudder-ail mix can be set on all the time since its so little.
