Default Intermittant servo on BCX2

Wow...... I have been flying my CX2 for quite a few months with little or no real issues. It has always been my one source of garunteed flight until the other nite. I lifted off and the heli flew up and slightly backwards and about got me in the nose. (Before ya ask...... I do have a fairly good sized honker!)
Checking it out I noticed the ELE servo wasn't responding to TX inputs. So, I did my normal trubble shooting teckneeks and positively identified the servo itself as the problem. Last nite after getting up from my nap I decided to go ahead and check it one more time before changing out to the new S60 I bought at the LHS. Weird enough......it responded fine and I actually flew it for about 5 minutes in the kitchen. Piros and short runs up and down the length of the kitchen were no problem and never once did I ever notice any ELE loss of control.
This morning I decided to snap out a quick flight around the front room and antagonize the fish. Dead servo again. I will go ahead and change it out but I am wondering if perhaps my 4 in 1 has begun a slow descent into the purgatory known as dying electronics.
Servos are not designed to last forever but I am sure it is less than a year old and has maybe 25 hrs of flight time total on it. Anyone else finding the Eflite servos sub par in the S60 size? I know the S75's are not all that and a bag of chips but the S60's I thought had a good rep.
As long as i have owned this CX2 it has never been crashed with power on so I am pretty certain the 4 in 1 has little if any abuse to it. I was running a CSRC 7.4V 8C 800 mAh in it at the time and voltage was right at 8.24V charged with a Astro Blinky balancer to smooth out both cells. The battery is never charged above 1C or .80A.
Weird....but the luck of the draw I suppose.
