Coopz just did a review of the FS Baja (MCD knock-off). I wouldnt believe that they would have very good parts support. You would be better off finding a used FH or Baja. I've seen some great deals on FG Marders to.
I think if you look around, you can find a used gasser for short money. I have seen HPI Bajas going for anywhere from $600 on up. I have seen FH going for the same. You just have to look in every RC related nook and cranny to find that deal.
