See if there is a small chamfer on the crank pin end of the rod. That chamfer
will go towards the front of the engine. Most locating pins for the ring go to the
side of the exhaust port....front left or front right, but I don't really know on
the G90. You should mark the parts with tiny scratches before you disassemble
them, so you know which way they go back together.

Look and see if there is a vertical scratch on the cylinder wall to represent were
the gap in the ring used to run.
