Default RE: 42cc engines?

ORIGINAL: flaminheli

For those that might care I have been working on a twin crankcase for the two 33cc engines that I have. I think I may be able to use a drillpress with an Y & Z vise to machine out the stock, any ideas? This is just a project in the makings, if it does not work out then I will just chalk it up as a learning experience. This project will be a long drawn out one for the simple fact that I only mess with it in my spare time. I still need to locate a set of reed valves and all needed pieces of it before final measurements can be made, it seems the old Homelite models will work and have located several good used ones that I need to go get.

REPLY I was going to buy a good cross feed milling vise that would have the Y&Z movements. The problem is how to get a fine feed up and down with a drill press. I am sure it can be done though. I bought the Harbor F. mill and like it quite well. If you want tooling...you are going to find a bigger selection at Griss and Little Machine shop. Also Enco for tooling. I can post some more links if you like. Capt,n
