J-MICHAEL,
The cold weather is tuff on the helis. Makes all the parts start to contract after awhile and can give all sorts or wierd problems. Soo, when flying in the cold weather and it starts acting stupid on ya. Don't blame the heli or yourself, just old man winter.
As far as the rotor head, if you move the flybar paddle up and down, thru it's full range. And there's no binding and no hard resistance, you fine and dandy. Oh, that's in the house, not in the cold.

Well the little tail bob is gone...Ended up just being the cold weather...Lol..Had me stumped for a bit, cause the spindle was still new, and it wasn't doing it yesterday...! I still think the blade grips are to tight but I'am not messing with with it. (If it ain't broken don't mess with it) There is just NO movement when you grab the grips and try and pull with a lateral movement side to side. Could take out a shim, but I think there is only one on each side anyway. Either way I'am happy with the performance of it currently.
