It's suggested to use a Teflon Spray for the rotor head, due to the fact of the rubber, that oil may soften the "O-Ring" in the rotor head.
WD-40 won't due, it's not a lubricant, it's a penetrating fluid and water displacement agent. Hmmmm, however, I've used Tru-Oil and never had a problem with "O-Rings" getting soft. Sewing machine oil, 3n1 oil, something light. Before you oil stuff up. Did you move the flybar up and down to see if it's binding or has alot of resistance. Lubing up, still wouldn't be a bad idea. To do it 100% properly, you have to remove the blades and remove the grips. Cuz, there is a bearing and a thrust washer inside the grip.
Or you can cheat the system and apply the oil a little heavy, move things around and wipe off the excess with a cotton ball or Q-tip.
